Hair has always been a big deal. Let’s step into a world where hair becomes a form of sculpture, storytelling, and self-expression. From ethereal updos to avant-garde texture work, stylists must merge technical mastery with creative courage.
Create a fantasy-inspired hairstyle that is rooted in who we are. Maybe you’re pulling from the colours and energy of Crop Over or the strength of our heritage, transformation, symbolism, and artistic freedom. Whether inspired by nature, futurism, or folklore, hair must become the medium of magic.
Requirements for Entry
Minimum 1 year of hairstyling experience
Submit a professional portfolio (social media link or up to 5 images)
Competition Rules
All styling must be completed on-site during the event
Bring all necessary tools and products
Provide your own live model
Models may arrive prepped (washed/blown out/ plait only)
Models cannot be switched once the competition begins
Full fantasy look must be completed within event timeframe
A description of your work on the day must be presented

This category transforms nails into miniature masterpieces of imagination. Nail Art & Design celebrates both structure and storytelling, inviting artists to turn hands into living works of art. Participants must blend flawless technique with bold vision to craft designs that mesmerize and inspire.
Celebrate the pride of Barbados by transforming geometry into a powerful narrative that journeys from our rich history to our bold future, think about our structures and stories. What does it truly mean to be Bajan? Let each nail become a panel in your story, layering texture, colour, and dimension to craft a vivid, eye-catching expression of Barbadiana.

Base (tips/forms) may be pre-applied before the competition
Finishing, and full nail art must be done during competition time

Bajan beauty, reimagined and reborn
Barbadian women have always known how to show-up. Whether it’s Kadooment Day or Sunday morning church we bring our whole selves. This category is a celebration of us and our artistry, pushed all the way with the face as our canvas.
Craft a fantasy-inspired makeup look that embodies culture, history and the spirit of Barbados . Channel the Queen of the Band at Cohobblopot, the deep roots of our African heritage, Bajan Folklore or event those beautiful sunsets. We want Drama, Details and to fell unmistakably Barbadiana.

Follow strict sanitation and hygiene standards
Competition Rules
All makeup application must be completed on-site
Bring a complete, sanitized professional makeup kit
Provide your own model
Models must arrive with a clean, makeup-free face
Full fantasy look, including lashes, must be completed within 60-90 minutes
All artistry, detail, and embellishments done during the time frame
